January 20th, 2011Toshiba seemed to have been very slow rolling out their new Toshiba 4Gb Laptop range, were they worth the wait? Let’s take a look under the hood of two of Toshiba’s best sellers.
#1 – Toshiba Satellite P505-S8980 18.4″ Notebook

Toshiba 4Gb Laptop

Toshiba 4Gb Laptop
Cliff Notes: This laptop packs a serious punch, probably the fastest we have had in stock to date.
The laptop ships with a dual core 2.2gb Core 2 Duo T6600 + a whooping 4Gb of Ram (6Gb in the very latest models). 500 Gb HDD as standard, Blu-ray and windows 7 premium are also standard.
Price $1099 (Just reduced from $1599)
This Toshiba laptop packs a very large mobile screen so it’s not idea for a lot of travelling but it is surprisingly light. Colours and depth on the screen are excellent. Sound from the built in speakers was a great surprize, so to was the almost silent running. It also comes in two styles (matt or shiney)
Blu-ray movies ran very smoothly, the two games we tested also ran incredibly fast (Bioshock + left4dead2)
Pros: Performance & Huge Screen.
Cons: Could be considered too large for everyday transport.
#2 – Toshiba Satellite L455-S5008 Notebook Computer
A great budget laptop comes with an Intel Pentium T4400 2.2GHz. We had a few problems getting this laptop going, we needed to install the latest service pack from microsoft, but we are told this is now included in future models.
